Types

Regardless of the AGV navigation technology, AIM provides the following vehicle types:

In order to address most AGV needs and applications, AIM provides AGVs following two different approaches:

Full Customization

Where the design of the AGV is fully customized to meet exact customer requirements for size, capacity, performance, and energy demand. With this approach, anything is possible, and the AGVs can be generally categorized under the following 4 types:

  • Forklift
    • Counter Balance
    • Pallet mover
    • Narrow aisle
    • Side loader

  • Unit Load
    • Flat top
    • Lift deck
    • Customized conveyor(s)
    • Customized lift(s)

  • Tugger
    • Customized to required towing capacity

  • Special Carrier
    • Heavy duty
    • Low profile
    • Explosion proof
    • Rider onboard
    • Outdoor applications

Modular Customization

Where standard tractor units are fitted with customized modular load handling, mast, and support structure options tailored to various customer needs. This results in short delivery turnaround, rapid return on investment, and lower life-cycle costs.

The tractor unit provides battery power, intelligent control, and propulsion power to the whole vehicle. A number of standard options and configurations are available in order to match a load weight capacity ranging from 2,600 Lbs. to 17,600 Lbs.

The modular load handling part of the AGV ingeniously provides ultimate flexibility by allowing full customization and configuration of various structural and load handling modules. The end result of this concept is that the same standard tractor unit can be configured to serve as a customized fork or clamp AGV, a tugger AGV, or a unit load AGV.

This approach makes it possible to easily transform an AGV from one type to another at any time during its life cycle. For example, a unit load AGV can be transformed into a fork AGV by replacing the support structure and adding a mast and the forks, without the need for any hardware modifications on the tractor unit.
